AzureusWiki:Copyright
From AzureusWiki
Contributions to the AzureusWiki must be property of the contributor, public domain content or published under a licence that is compatible with the GNU Free document Licence (GFDL).
By submitting contributions you agree to licence your work under the following conditions:
- Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with no Invariant Sections, no Front-Cover Texts, and no Back-Cover Texts.
The GDFL prohibits modification of "Invariant Sections, Front-Cover Texts, and Back-Cover Texts", therefore you must not include those and should provide links to them instead.

Using Content of the AzureusWiki
If you want to use AzureusWiki materials in your own books/articles/web sites or other publications, you can do so, but you have to follow the GFDL. If you are simply duplicating the AzureusWiki article, you must follow section two of the GFDL on verbatim copying.
Use of derivative works on the internet
You may use the same title as the AzureusWiki pages but trademark law prevents you from advertising the Azureus or Aelitis names without our written permission. This does not prevent you from giving either Azureus or Aelitis credit for the work by name. But it does legally prevent you from leading your readers to believe that your version of our work is in fact an official Azureus or Aelitis publication. See below for more.
- Mention AzureusWiki as the source (not mandatory; but appreciated)
- Provide a functional link back to the AzureusWiki page (this satisfies the author credit requirement of the license)
- State that the text is available under the GNU Free Documentation License
- Link to a copy of the GNU FDL license (preferably stored on your own server)
- Your version of the text must be machine readable (meaning you cannot prevent others from copying the text)
Exceptions
The Azureus trademark and the blue frog logo belong to aelitis.com. The logo is not available under the GFDL and you must not use it without permission (with exception to fair use clauses of the copyright laws of your jurisdiction).
Contributors' rights and obligations
If you contribute material to the AzureusWiki, you thereby license it to the public under the GFDL (with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts). In order to contribute, you therefore must be in a position to grant this license, which means that either
- you own the copyright to the material, for instance because you produced it yourself, or
- you acquired the material from a source that allows the licensing under GFDL, for instance because the material is in the public domain or is itself published under GFDL.
In the first case, you retain copyright to your materials. You can later republish and relicense them in any way you like. However, you can never retract the GFDL license for the versions you placed here: that material will remain under GFDL forever. In the second case, if you incorporate external GFDL materials, as a requirement of the GFDL, you need to acknowledge the authorship and provide a link back to the network location of the original copy. If the original copy required invariant sections, you have to incorporate those into the Wikipedia article; it is however very desirable to replace GFDL texts with invariant sections by original content without invariant sections whenever possible.
If you are the owner of AzureusWiki-hosted content being used without your permission
If you are the owner of content that is being used on the AzureusWiki without your permission, then you may request the page be immediately removed. To do so please contact one of the project admins listed on the sourceforge project page[1].
